CAC Monthly Presentation: Roger Mortimer, MD – Suspension Syndrome

Suspension Syndrome community presentation with Roger Mortimer, MDSuspension Syndrome community presentation with Roger Mortimer, MD

Each month, the Coalition of American Canyoneers hosts a live community presentation for members, bringing in guest experts to dig into the gear, techniques, and issues that matter most to the canyoneering community. This month, we were joined by Roger Mortimer, MD, for a talk on suspension syndrome.

About This Session

Hanging motionless in a harness can become a medical emergency surprisingly quick. Dr. Roger Mortimer walks through what suspension syndrome is, why it matters on rappel and in rescue situations, along with what canyoneers can do to recognize it and respond.
